Not too much time to blog these days, despite the fact that time seems to stand still (and not in a good way) during the summer. I am still grinning and bearing the unstructured days, but several things have made it easier: Will is capable of playing, concentrating on, and enjoying board and card games; Michael is old enough to stay at home by himself for an hour or two; and both of them are totally independent in the water, to the point that I can read my book and not feel like I have to keep my eye on them every single second.
We've discovered a water park in the next county that the boys love. It has a lazy river (which tends to get too crowded for my taste, but the boys love it), two curvy water slides, a zero entry part, and a play structure with water jets, fountains, tipping water pails, etc. We also discovered the indoor pool at this park the last time we went, because someone vomited in the pool and we had to get out for thirty minutes. During that break, we found the big lap pool which had a diving board. Will immediately joined the line and, for the next hour, jumped off over and over, even after the water park had reopened. Because the indoor pool is heavily lifeguarded, I felt confident leaving Will to use the diving board while I went out and checked on Michael at the water park, and vice versa. Both knew where to find me if I were not with them, neither cared if I left them, and I knew they wouldn't get lost. That's a VERY relaxing change.
At the moment, the boys are in Macon with Lee's sister, who has a Wii. Who needs Mom when there's a Wii to be played with, at the home of an indulgent aunt who won't care if they spend six hours straight playing it? She's going to drag them away long enough to see Wall-E, go to the Georgia Music Hall of Fame Museum, and an amusement park with waterslides. They'll be back late on Wednesday afternoon with my MIL in tow, in time for us all to go and watch Will's t-ball game.
In their absence, I will just be doing the usual, laundry, grocery shopping, etcetera, but Lee & I ARE going on a date tonight, after my hot flow class - we have a gift card from a client of his to an upscale restaurant on the other side of town, so we're going to go for a late dinner. We also have a lunch date planned, probably on Wednesday.
And of course, yoga as often as possible. I'm considering the possibility of two classes tomorrow...

Self indulgent
Friday night, Lee has taken the boys camping so I'm by myself, on the sofa, already in my pajamas. For dinner I had leftover grilled veggies, a Boca burger (sans bun) with some leftover herb dip, and for dessert a bowlful of blueberries with cream.
I am finally over the dregs of the sinus infection that dogged me for nearly three weeks. I went back to yoga with a few hot flow classes and even though I had to stop and honk gobs of junk into a tissue during class, I felt like I had not lost any flexibility, or ability, even though I took two weeks off.
The studio closest to me has added two power yoga classes to the schedule. I've tried them both, and my favorite is taught by my favorite teacher at the studio. He teaches vinyasa and hot flow classes, but has an ashtanga background and his classes have a lot of ashtanga elements. He also incorporates more challenging postures than any other teacher there. The other night he taught us side crow, which was very fun, but when he jumped out of it, his foot hit this sixty second clock that was propped against the wall, and the glass in it shattered rather dramatically.
He also had us do forearm stands, which I had not done before, so I did against the wall, but it was very fun.
I went to a hot flow tonight and am planning to do full primary at John's in the morning, probably I'm going to suck wind, but I won't make it back to class until next Thursday. It ain't nothing but a thang!
Will is absolutely loving t-ball, he wants to get out and play every position, and is completely unselfconscious about his skills (though to be honest he's one of the better players on this team of five and six year olds, where the whole point is to learn the skills). Sometimes when I'm watching him at a game or practice, I feel like I am seeing my future as the mom of a jock.

This is getting very old.
Still dealing with sinus stuff. Still no yoga in almost two weeks!! I miss it very much. Today when getting my cloth bags out of the back of my car at the grocery I spotted my poor, neglected Manduka mat, buried under the picnic blanket. A little while ago I got it out and did a few sun salutations, but the sinus pain by my left cheekbone meant that I could not hold my downward facing dog for more than a breath. Also, I still have to blow my nose so much that I can't see going to class yet. And today I have gunk coming out of my right eye too. Nice! What's next, locusts and the plague?
I really, really hoped to make to a hot flow tonight, while Lee takes the boys to chess club, but instead I think I am going to go for a power walk my with a few girlfriends.
I'm still feeling a bit low energy as well, so I have the sense that I am wasting a lot of time during the day when I only have one child with me, but lack the energy to do anything about it....
